Steam Over Europe

Steampunk is basically something that takes place in the mind. However, without the true experience of steam, one cannot recall the proper stench, the heat, the sounds of working steam engines. Nowadays, steam engines are not around every corner anymore. The Steam Over Europe Project is set up to review those sites that still use steam power.

The project will have three legs:

Steam over Holland: because The Netherlands are where I live, I can do research here and visit all the places. I will do the reviews myself and place them on the GSP site. Reactions and suggestions can be put in the forum.
Steam over Europe: Europe is fine for steam experiences, even though I can’t visit all the steam powered sites within the next few years. What I can review will be placed on the GSP site. Visitors of the forum can place their reviews in The Steam Over Europe thread. One might place links and tips as well, so I can visit it myself someday.
Steam Conquers the World: basically the same as Steam Over Europe, but then dedicated to all steam projects outside Europe. I won’t be able to visit these myself, so it’s up to the visitors of the forum to do the reviews.

The reviews will give general information, but, and this should be noticed, it should also give information on how “Steampunk” it is. Is it worth visiting it, how are the props around the engines? Does it have an atmosphere of yesteryear? Can you learn about steam engines there, or just about the project and the people who set it up? Can you come in costume, or would it go dirty, or would people just gaze? What else steampunky can you do there? Is it safe, dirty, or too clean?
Would be wonderful if one or more pictures are placed with the review.
