Introduction

In the Dark Ages, a language was made by the Poorters to communicate with Naglani and Sudzi. The language was very popular during a short period of time and has had an impact on the geographical names in Daleth. To comprehend the toponyms, a glossary is available.
The language did not have a proper grammar. There were a few basic words and the addition of the basic words made new words, with a new meaning. The language had only five verbs (to be, to have, to make, to do and to go) that could be combined to form other words: “to make words” = “to speak”. In the library of the Imperial Palace in Ildritz are a few books (mostly poetry) in this trade language. The odd professor still studies this language.
In the end, the trade language was not enough to get a real communication going. It was for all parties easier to learn each others language. This was easier than anyone guessed, because Tuggs, the Naglani language, had much in common with language of the Poorters.

Here a piece of written Common Trade Language. The meaning of these old characters had been lost for ages, but has recently been found again in the Ciniz University. (Click to see more of it)
