Politics

The lands of Daleth are no longer a unity since De Weslanan started their independence wars. The United Empires are split in many parts, that keep up good communication between each other. However, politics are done in the small parts. There is no overall organisation. These are the lands that formed the United Empires in earlier times:
NB: De Taycha has never been a true part of the United Empires, so it never really was part of Daleth.

There is no such thing as an overall Dalethian government - not anymore. In name, the Emperor is still Emperor over Daleth, but his reign is not accepted by most other political powers. His power does not go beyond De Erflanden, so the Emperor of Daleth is actually no more than the Emperor of De Erflanden. To keep up appearances, De Erflanden are called Daleth in the Imperial Court.

There are some political issues that have their roots in the history of the United Empires, such as foreign affairs and trade, road building, the defence system. Because these things work out very well, it is still part of Dalethian politics, much more than an issue of the different political regions.

The foreign affairs, together with trade, are not a big issue. There are few connections to the south (Wythviz and beyond, Luban) and the East (Dernian Landis, Lasu'tyq) and the West (Fanigawi and Maristriumarka). Foreign affairs include the connections with the Naglani in both The Taycha as well as Skaunsric, and the Sudzi in Klainskrizzon and the Koude Dal.
As an irregular item, the explorers of Airtha also belong to the foreign affairs. Explorers-to-be can ask financial help from the Imperial Court to cover their expenses. In exchange, everything discovered, be it new land, gold or living beings, belongs to the Empire of Daleth.

The road building - making the routes between states and cities- and the road repair is important for all lands in Daleth. Regular held conventions with all lands are necessary to uphold the trade routes. This includes the system of inns along the roads. Without the roads to other states, most lands cannot survive.

The defence-system is nothing more than a military treaty in which all lands promise to send their armies to wars with people from outside Daleth (but there hasn’t been such a war in centuries). It also states that all military units should be able to work together and have basically the same level of technical skills. The Military Academy in Ildritz is the training site for almost every soldier or officer in the former United Empires.
