Goodwater

Discovered in approximately 1525 by Verenz “the Sailor” of Ciniz, Goodwater was one of the first, and only, colony of Daleth.
The story is told that Verenz left Ciniz and the continent of Daleth and sailed through the Sea of Storms to an unknown land. Nearly starved and longing for fresh water, the ship Verenz sailed made landfall on the banks of an unknown river. The water in the river turned out to be so good, they named it after it. They build a small fort although they had no enemies. However, they suspected a strange people lived in the woods.

The small fort soon became a small village as the trade from Ciniz via Dohn to the shores of the Dreaded Coast grew. This trade was not going well in the end, and stopped about hundred years after Goodwater was discovered.
Now, the village and the fort might still be there. There might even be some of the Cinizian inhabitants there, but no one knows for sure. No ship has left for Goodwater in the last hundred years.

Verenz send some of the plants and animals to his brother Conrath in Ciniz. These have become well known. Other plants and animals still stay mysterious. Most mysterious of all are the “wild men”, a human species that has been spotted from a distance near Fort Goodwater. The naked, but furry men are as big as a large grown man, but does not show any intelligence. No effort has ever been taken to contact the citizens of Goodwater, be it peaceful or hostile.

The climate in Goodwater is warm, and things rot quickly in the damp air. Trees and other plants love the fertile humid soil. The land is flat, but on some distance from Fort Goodwater some hesitating hills can be found. There are no mountains of any height.
After some research on the stones Verenz sent to Ciniz, it is concluded that Goodwater must lay near a volcano, for the structure of the stone is the same as the lava layers that can be found near Mount Funins.
