Ballad of Goodwater

The Islands of the Goodwater Archipelago

This poem is a so-called shanty, that is sung in the harbours of Daleth.

As the sturdy ship set its silver sails
To the Far Horizons of Aaser’s Realm
It danced upon the waves along the whales
And got caught in Vindel’s arms

Goodwater, Goodwater
Save our lives as we wash
Upon thy rocky shore
Goodwater, Goodwater
Tell our wives we will come
To hold them once more
Goodwater, Goodwater
Quench our thirst,
And sing your lullaby

On in Vindel’s arms we rested
And on Aasers realm we sailed
Our courage and our calm we tested
And our captain - he never failed

Along the strange and sandy shores
Along the cliffs of dawn and doom
The seagulls guiding us through the Gulf
of stormy seas and wild whipping waves
Brave we sailed and strong was our ship
She rocked in the cradle of Aaser’s love

Oh in Aasers arms they rest
And in Molik’s realm they sailed
Their courage has been put to the test
It was their captain who had Molik hailed
