Baurghs: new life for an ancient castle
Baurghs, capital of Klainskrizzon and centre of the Sudzi culture, is an ancient city. It is build in the ruins of a Giant-city, known as Tel-Rozlot. The huge castle of Tel-Rozlot was deserted, but hardly destroyed when the Sudzi choose this place to live in. The old, heavy walls still stand and in the enormous castle Baurghs is build. Not only the palace of the Sudzi Lord is within its walls, but in every room, chamber, hall, and dungeon the Sudzi have made their homes. This gives Baurghs the feeling of a labyrinth.
The walled city is situated on an island in the river Wyz. The high eastern bank of the Wyz shadows Baurghs in the morning, and with the river it has protected the city against raids from Overveer.
Baurghs is the safe haven for the Sudzi, only to be reached over a ship bridge, and not the centre of trade. Foreigners are seldom welcome within the city walls. All trade is done in Furdu. The treasures of the Sudzi are kept in Baurghs though.
Apart from the castlepalace itself, there are hardly buildings worth mentioning in Baurghs. The Sudzi say the dungeons and subterranean roads are worth visiting, but they are hardly mapped and very dangerous. Every now and then, Baurghs has to suffer from earthquakes. It is the miracle (or magic?) of Giantian architecture that the city is still there after all this time.
