Play

The Naglani got a very peculiar way to spend long evenings. They tell stories to another, but in a slightly different way.
A storyteller starts to tell a rather well-known story to a participating audience. The storyteller takes on several roles, but the audience can also play/improvise a part in the story or take over roles from the storyteller. Since everybody knows how the story must end, the roleplaying is more important than the story itself. Nevertheless, the role-players have the possibility to change the story if they really want. Sometimes characters are added to the story, and some new characters are so popular they stay in the story the next time it is told.
The Naglani have developed a range of tricks to make a play more attractive. Special effects of sound and light are added by improvisation, costumes and surroundings are improvised from whatever is near. The “fighting” technics are a true art in itself, related to ballet and illusion.
Those who don’t want to participate in the story are welcome to hear it, but it is known that many stories are told without a passive audience.
