Climate

There are many kinds of climates in Daleth, and they are separated in 6 zones:

Icy Edges
The Coast
High Mountains
Continent
Desert
Winters Corridor

The Icy Edges

In the northern parts of Daleth, there is a polar climate. It is cold in summer and winter, and snow or ice will never melt. Close to these regions, the ice stays in the soil the whole year over, so nothing worth mentioning will grow (or live) there.
It doesn’t rain or snow much here, only in spring and in the autumn the skies will weep over these parts, and in winter the snow will be swept around by huge winds, making a snowstorm.

The Coast

The coast has a very good climate to live in. It is not too hot in summer nor too cold in winter. But it rains throughout the year, and it rains very much in the southern part of the coast region (west of Nieuw-Gamoor, south of Skaunsric).
A warm gulfstream in the water keeps the sea harbours of Daleth open all year. It comes from the southwest, and turns in the Cinmouth Bay towards the west, just south of the Roversisle it flows. Any part of Daleth north of this is cold [Ice Edges].

High Mountains

The mountain regions of Daleth have a tricky climate. The weather can change completely in about two hours. Only inhabitants who care about it may be able to tell in time if the weather will turn bad. Usually bad weather starts with just a tiny streak of white in the blue sky...
Of course, high in the mountains there is eternal snow. In winter, the borders of the snow come creeping towards the valleys, sometimes overnight. Next to the mountains the wind doesn’t blow that much, but around some peaks the storms never stops.

Continent

The continent has two parts, West and East. The west is more wet than the east, due to the White Mountains in between. All oncoming, east going clouds drifting from the sea collide with the mountains, and weep over their wounds in the Weslanan.
The Continent is pretty warm (up to body temperature) in summer, and freezing cold in winter. It rains throughout the year, but in winter what comes from the clouds is mostly snow.

Desert

The desert climate is to be found in Salamadran and in the southern part of Overveer. It is hot and dry in the summer, and cold and dry in the winter. It does rain here, but not often and never enough. It can be a very windy place, sandstorms appear like maggots on a dead horse and dunes are pushed around by the wind, drowning houses as they do.

Winters Corridor

The Winters Corridor (also known as Vindels Walk) is a long region, from the Taycha to Klainskrizzon. Usually, this is a very normal continental or desert region, but in autumn and winter, the winds from the north bring the cold polar winter down here. On the edges of the Corridor, it rains a lot and all sorts of bad weather can be expected throughout the year when the wind comes from the north.
