The spiderball is a bunch of up to 150 spiders, floating through the air. The ball is protected with web tissue. Only female spiders form a spiderball. The male spiders build webs, in which they catch the spiderballs and their prey. After the spiderball is caught, and the mating is done, the male spiders are eaten and spider eggs are laid in dead trees. The spiderballs and the male spiders are not dangerous to larger animals. The webs and balls can be irritating and very sticky. Related topics: |
