For the full multimedia experience I’ve made a 40 second soundtrack for you to enjoy. It’s a 800 kB file in MP3 format.

How I made it
The basics of the soundtrack is a nice riff I once played on my bass guitar. I have recorded it on a rather cheap tape, 10 years ago. Figure what that does to quality. And yes, you’re right, it does sound a bit like Jonathan Richman’s Egyptian Reggae.
I used the internal microphone of my iBook to record the music cassette I played on my old ghettoblaster. During the process, the tape was a bit bandsaladed. I also used the ghettoblaster for the shooting sound, which is in fact recorded with another ghetto blaster in front of the TV while “The Man with the Golden Gun” was played from video - about 20 years ago.
The funny sounds you hear are produced by the ghettoblaster as well. I turned it to the short-wave band and was searching between channels during recording. The interference of the iBook in action caused a rhythmic distortion. I had several of these recordings put in the soundtrack.
The “ting” you hear is the sound of a wooden drumstick against an empty 33cl can of Heineken-beer, held by the lip. The blowing of the wind you hear is actually me blowing into and over the same empty beer can in front of the microphone.
The breaking sounds are provided with iMovie, that came with the iBook.

If you like it enough, you may burn it on CD. Check this image for the CD booklet ;)

The bonus for reading up until here is a midi version of the Dutch National Hymn (made with EasyBeat, written from traditional sheetmusic).

AND THERE IS EVEN MORE!

I've made this terrible CD booklet for a 4-track CD single ^^
Music includes Delft Blues (a minutes long piece of beauty), Amsterdam and Dutch Courage.
