Natural religion

The Naglani have only one god, named Alls. Alls is supposed to be anywhere, in humans, rocks, plants, animals, the air. Because Alls is everywhere, there are no places to worship Alls, it can be done anywhere.

The vision towards the world

A long time ago, there was only Alls. Alls “exploded’ in some mystic way when colliding with “evil” and all parts of Alls formed Airtha and everything on and around it. Therefore, everything has a part of Alls in it and is holy (See also the elemental religion, which took parts of this myth as well).
The meaning of life for Naglani is to guard everything holy. This does not mean they have to protect individual things, but to protect the life on Airtha as a whole (protecting the ecology, some might say). If things are changed or killed (like animals for food) these things are handled with the greatest respect and are more or less sacrificed to the ongoing of Alls.
There cannot be more of Alls than when it exploded. Thus, Naglani believe in reincarnation. But they see that the world has more people on it than in earlier times. They believe animals can reincarnate into humans (and the other way around) and if there is not enough Alls to give things a spark of life, Evil can give this spark as well. Plagues and war are the result of sparks of evil. Plagues and war, like hunger and illness are necessary to provide enough good sparks of life. This is, however, no reason to kill people for no other reason at all.

Rites and places of worship

There are no rites and no priests for the natural religion, and no places built to worshipping Alls, nor is there a holy book. There are no holidays either. Naglani sometimes contemplate life and Alls on their own in a place they like and where it is quiet, usually in the more beautiful parts of De Taycha or Skaunsric.
Naglani do have shamans, who explain the world seen through the eye of a believer. Shamans can read the landscape - and Alls is in the landscape as well.

Religious art

Because Alls created everything, every beautifully shaped piece of nature is regarded to as religious art. Strange shaped stones and pieces of wood are put in houses as art to show the creative powers of Alls. Naglani haven’t got forms of arts as sculptures or paintings.

The circle, a symbol of Alls, the World and the beginning of all life, the Egg. The circle is a basic form in the art of the Naglani.

New forms

The Naglani who wandered to the Poorter cities are sometimes influenced with the elemental religion. Where they interact more often with believers of the four gods, they show a tendency to forget about the natural religion. The four gods are, after all, elements of Alls.
Some Naglani however become “fundamentalists” and try to get the four gods together to revive one Alls. They will go a long way to do so, not always in a friendly manner. If Alls is one again, it will be the end of time, and everybody will be together in this one holy Alls.
