The Dark Place. The Lightless Realm. The Splinterless Empire. The Evil World. Nox House. Numerous names this non-place has. But no one can tell exactly what it is, or where it is, or how it came into existence. However, everyone knows it is a bad place, a place you don't want to go to, a place of terror and fear and the name is only whispered. Probably it is the evil side of night, much beyond the evilness of Nox. The place where no splinter lights the surroundings. The name of the place is often used in Dalethian poetry and the study of old literature revealed that the first poems mentioning the realms of riqiz are actually of Naglani origins. Here, the nature of the place becomes clear, for the Naglani don't believe in splinters or a Goddess of the Night. The Naglani believe that, when they die, they will disappear into Alls, which may be a dark place because Alls is all in this world, but probably nothing in another world - a world beyond the one we know. What came back from that place of darkness, was bad and rejected by Alls. And so it is assumed the Realm of Riqiz originally meant the place the dead go to, or death itself. The other people of Daleth have taken over the meaning of a bad place you don't want to go to, and that things coming from the Realms of Riqiz is in fact evil. Related topics: |
